The Australian Drift Club has been running the Women in Drifting initiative since 2022.
Since then, we’ve hosted seven dedicated events aimed at encouraging female participation in drifting.
Each event has welcomed around 40 women—ranging from first-timers to experienced drivers.
To date, over 200 women have taken part, with many now drifting regularly at our public events and a few progressing to competition.

On the 13th of September 2025, the Australian Drift Club hosted its biggest Women in Drifting event yet at SMSP

This year, the focus shifted back to basics — creating a welcoming, beginner-friendly environment designed to introduce new people to drifting and grassroots motorsport. The format was built around accessibility, education, and community, helping first-time drivers and spectators feel comfortable getting involved in the sport.
The approach proved to be a major success, with 19 new drivers attending the event alongside 11 returning drivers continuing to develop their skills and remain active within the community. The strong turnout from both new and returning participants highlighted the demand for grassroots events that prioritise learning, progression, and an approachable atmosphere over high-pressure competition.
The combination of on-track action, driver education, and open discussion created an atmosphere that reflected what grassroots drifting is all about — supporting newcomers, building confidence, and growing the community from the ground up.
With record attendance and strong engagement throughout the day, the event marked another major step forward for the Australian Drift Club and its mission to make drifting more approachable for the next generation of female drivers.

The event also attracted more than 100 spectators, creating an energetic atmosphere throughout the day as friends, families, motorsport enthusiasts, and first-time attendees came out to support the drivers. From beginners taking to the track for the first time through to more experienced participants refining their skills, the crowd played a major role in building the positive and welcoming environment that defined the event.
The support from the crowd not only boosted driver confidence throughout the day but also helped showcase the inclusive culture that continues to grow within the Australian Drift Club community.
